Prevailing Omen In Haryana

Omen

An omen is an event or a sign of something good to happen before starting a work or journey. Some of these are given below:

  • Hiran Darshan, (Seeing a deer) During foreign journey, a deer crosses the way or runs from left to right. In the local language, it is called as 'Hiran Ki Bukkal Kholna'.
  • Kowe Ka Bolna, (Crow making a sound) When a crow makes sound while sitting on the roof it is considered a sign of coming of a guest.
  • Paani Bhara Ghada,  (Seeing a flied pitcher) It is a considered good to see a water beaver girl (Paniharin) along with a filled pitcher outside the home.
  • Brahaman Kanya Ka Darshan, (To see a Brahmin girl) To see a Brahmin girl early in the morning is considered good.
